Although this tutorial is a little bit on the side of the graphic design, I think is interesting to be able to understand how color separation works.
Why do you need color separation?. Basically to be able to have all the colors well divided in order to print them separately (for example to screen-printing them for T-Shirts) or to use any other print form.
The basic process to separate colors can be automated by the software separating all the colours in cyan, magenta and yellow; abbreviated as CMYK, the K stands for Key. This process is really simple with modern technology and is based in small dots that when they are printed together they can generate different tones or colors.
