MacOS X finally secured

This article is for Mac users thinking their favorite OS is secured and can't be targeted.
As usual Apple is one of the company using Press Media to his own advantage, the Cupertino giant has developed huge communication skills over the last decade.
Their last announcement came a week before the well know Pwn20wn event:

During the 2 last editions of Pwn20wn a security researcher Charlie Miller proved that it takes only minutes to compromise Mac OS X both in 2008 and 2009, leveraging unpatched flaws in the Safari web browser. This year, the Cupertino giant has shored up the defenses ahead of the event, patching 16 vulnerabilities with the release of Safari 4.0.5.
Hopefully for Apple and its users, Mac OS X is not representative enough of the computer industry to be targeted by malware or virus, but since the Apple products users community is growing the company will have to focus a bit more on security.
iPhone is also vulnerable to some SMS attack, and this vulnerability has not yet been patched.
Hopefully for Mac users, snow leopard and its ascendant relies on a strong Unix kernel which can be secured in a paranoid way. But from my point of view Apple lacks a security oriented development team, and this may lead Apple fans to a big disappointment.
Is this the end of the last non secured OS?

The funny thing is we've heard the exact same arguments for FireFox.
When FF was 5% of the market, no problems, no security issues. When it got more popular, security fixes start to come.
As you say, if no enough people use something, it's safe, more user use it, mor issues you will have...

Both Firefox and MacOS X are good products, i think it's just stupid to wait to get a strong community before dealing with a security oriented code...

I agree, but we are in a world of productivity, and people prefer to have many features than less but strong one :(

Productivity can lead to some weird business model...
Hopefully event like Pwn20wn help software development company to fix security issue
